The gate to the yard-waste dump site in Beardstown will now be open only during weekday hours due to improper dumping of trash items.
“This is not a landfill and you cannot dump trash, metal, plastic etc.,” according to a news release from the mayor’s office. “The site is only for brush and yard waste.”
The yard-waste dump site will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and closed evenings, weekends and holidays.
For a small fee residents can dump trash in the dumpster located behind the Public Works Building on Edwards Street.
