Intensity — Beardstown firefighters battled intense smoke and heat Monday night as fire broke out in a hog confinement building approximately 2 miles south of Beardstown on Route 67. When they arrived, firefighters found nearly half of a 400-head hog confinement facility fully engulfed in fire.
