Gladys Dee Lovekamp Thomas

    Gladys Dee Lovekamp Thomas, 92, Arenzville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
    She was born March 6, 1929, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin C. and Mabel L. Ham Lovekamp. She was baptized on August 31, 1929 in Queen City, MO, and then confirmed her faith on March 29, 1942 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arenzville. She married Clifford E. Thomas on December 14, 1947 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Arenzville.
    Dee graduated from Arenzville High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was also a school bus driver for the Triopia School District for 32 years.
    She is survived by one son, Tony (Vicky) Thomas, Arenzville, one daughter, Paula (Larry) Boehme of New Berlin; four grandchildren, Katrina Thomas and Amanda (Jerry) Hoxie of Arenzville, John (Melissa) Boehme and Brian (Wendy) Boehme of Springfield; nine great-grandchildren, Melissa, Hailey, Austen, Brayden, A.J., Olivia, Allison, Gwen and Heidi; one great-great grandchild, Brooklyn; her sisters, Marvel Gardner of Columbus, OH, Myra Sundberg of Glendale, AZ, and Mary Lovekamp of Beardstown; one brother, Charles (Patricia) Lovekamp of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy; son, Alan Dale Thomas; three sisters, Theresa Curry, June Houston and Cora Scheer; and an infant brother, Antone Lovekamp.
    A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arenzville, with burial at Arenzville North Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
