George Edward Cohenour

    George Edward Cohenour, 73, of Arenzville, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at Heritage Health in Springfield.
    He was born August 22, 1947 in Pekin, the son of Fred and Maudie Clark Allen Cohenour.
    He is survived by his children, Johnny Langley of Arenzville, Robert (Carol) Cohenour of Jacksonville, Steven Cohenour of Baylis and Carolyn (Eric) Anderson of Arenzville; six grandchildren, Jordan Langley, Justin DeJaynes, Dakota Cohenour, Emily Ritter, Isiac and Jacob Anderson; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Diane Larson, Norma Lynn, Donna “Fenie” Lynn and Sharon McKinnney; two brothers, Edward Allen, Sr. and Bill Allen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, Shayla Marie Lewis; three sisters, Karen Cohenour, Alice Brackney and Judy Otto; and one brother, Richard “Butch” Cohenour.
    Mr. Cohenour was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Oscar Mayer in Beardstown and was previously employed by Huey Lumber Company in Arenzville. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, fishing, boating and camping with his grandchildren to name a few. He loved tinkering with all his toys and attending yard sales.
    A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Black Oak Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.sagerfuneralhome.com.
