Gary McMurl, 57, Beardstown, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.   
    He was born May 27, 1964 in Beardstown, the son of Robert McMurl and Doris “Sissy” (Anderson) Warden.  
    He is survived by two brothers, Tony (wife Tammy) Stinson and Darin (wife Megan) Warden, both of Beardstown; two nieces, Whitney and Hailey Warden; a nephew, Shane (wife Amber) Stinson; several great nieces and nephews, and cousins; and his special friend, Susan Steele.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Brandon Stinson, and a brother, David Stinson.  
    Gary attended Beardstown Schools. He worked many years for Excel and Cargil in Beardstown, and later for Butch Applegate’s truck wash, and Rich Hardwoods. He spent a lot of time outdoors, working in his garden, and fishing. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and spending time with his furry friend, Snoopy. No matter what the moment was, Gary’s sense of humor always made things better.   
    Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Sunday. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
