One of the best Thanksgivings yet

    I hope you all had a great Thansksgiving; we did. Lots of family: all five of my children and their mates (or not), four of the 12 grandchildren, a grandson’s fiance and her two boys, and two great-grandchildren. I decided to give up some of the work this year and told everybody they could bring something, even if it was ice for the tea. We had a fresh, 22-pound turkey that I fixed along with oyster dressing, cornbread and sausage dressing, and the gravy, as well as the cranberry sauce, cherry and pumpkin pies, and brownies. I didn’t give it up completely, as you can see.
    Children brought mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, and deviled eggs, and grandchildren brought home-made rolls, ice, and candy. Oh, I also made chicken and noodles. Wow, no wonder we didn’t have room for dessert, even by supper time.
