Kate's Garden Gate

    It was 1945 and we were moving to my street when my closest friend and I had to say goodbye. You would have thought  that I was moving to another planet. It was two blocks away! We went from a two-story house with a big yard to a two-bedroom bungalow with very little yard. On the corner was the stone building that housed our neighborhood grocery. That was pretty handy, and daddy sold them produce.
