Enjoying the colorful butterflies

The colorful butterflies are here. Yellow surfers dance around the  roses, the yellow tiger-striped butterfly loves the cone flowers. There are black ones and purple iridescent ones, small, medium, and large.
My oldest son told me last week that while he was here he saw two monarchs headed towards the pasture where the milkweed is. The monarchs love the milkweed and use it for food and to lay eggs. Too many farmers have sprayed the roadsides and killed off the milkweed, trying for that extra acre to make more money. Sometimes greed does in a good thing. I have nothing against farmers, love them and am a small one myself, but chemicals and nature  don’t  always mix.
