Gabriella “Gabby” Christine Galvan

Gabriella “Gabby” Christine Galvan, 23, of Indianapolis, IN. died Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic.
    She was born July 9, 1998 in Plantation, FL, the daughter of Alejandro and Shonda Murray Galvan.
    She is survived by her parents, Alejandro and Shonda of North Vernon, IN; one sister, Lauren Galvan of North Vernon, IN; companion, Connor Solfisburg of Indianapolis, IN; paternal grandparents, Mike and Delilah Icenogle of Beardstown and Salvador and Josie Galvan of Crestwood; maternal grandparents, Patrick and Diana Murray of Beardstown; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Eliza Galvan.
    Gabby was a kind and thoughtful person who dedicated herself to everything she did. She loved her family—especially her mom, dad, and little sister, Lauren—and loved to visit her extended family in Beardstown. Gabby loved her boyfriend Connor, and they were planning to get married and build a life together. Gabby was a wonderful “dog mom” and took excellent care of her beloved rescue dog, Nala. Gabby graduated 7th in the Jennings County High School class of 2016. She then went on to earn a degree in nursing from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2020, realizing her dream of becoming a NICU nurse. She also traveled to Nicaragua with the Medical Brigade, caring for the less fortunate in the communities she visited there. Gabby was a devout Christian. She was active in her church youth program for many years, often sang on the worship team, and served on several mission trips. Gabby was a light to those around her, and the legacy she leaves behind is impossible to put into words. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
    A funeral service will be held 10 a.m.Friday, August 27, 2021 at First Christian Church in Beardstown with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Beardstown Christian Academy gymnasium.
