Exchange Club honors local students, hears address on ‘community’ from LLCC Site Coordinator Brenda McGuire

The Exchange Club of Beardstown presented a certificate and check to Daniela Sanchez, daughter of Martin and Ana Sanchez, as the February Youth of the Month. Introducing the students was Josh Sorrels, who said Daniela has a 3.68 GPA on a scale of 4 and has participated in Art Club and FCCLA. She is highly respected by teachers and peers and is always willing to devote her time and energy at home, at school, and in the community. She lives the lesson taught by her parents: “We all need to help each other in this world and be considerate, because we never know when we will need a helping hand.”
Allyson Leischner received the Young Citizenship Award. She is the daughter of Douglas and Tracy Leischner and is 15th in a class of 116 at Beardstown Middle School. Allyson has participated in cross country, volleyball, and track and has served on the Student Council. Her teachers say she is an incredibly smart student who not only gets good grades but is willing to help anyone.
