Elizabeth Joann Thurman

Elizabeth Joann Thurman, 86,  Beardstown, died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

    She was born July 11, 1936 in Beardstown, daughter of James Warden and Irene Goodin Warden. She married Harry Edmond Thurman on July 1, 1956 in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2016.

    She is survived by four sons, Doug (Candee) Thurman, Scott Thurman and Ted (Ronda) Thurman, all of Beardstown, Todd (Angie) Thurman of Arenzville; one daughter, Jennifer Thurman of Beardstown. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren,  Kelsie (Jake) McColez, Heather (Adam) Ren, Ashley (Ronnie) Burgett, Dalton, Colton and Austin Thurman, Brooke Thurman (companion Kenny Bledsoe), Clayton Thurman, Shelby Thurman (companion Jesse Renken), Andrew Adkins, Amber (Nick) Clark, Ashlee Adkins (companion Zach Hicks), and Jaime Henninger and 18 great-grandchildren Parker, Ethan, Cheston, Carter, Zayden, Zoey, Eli, McKinlee, Adalyn, Everett, Karson, Willow, Maverick, Alice, Landon, Jacob, Charlie and Lucus. She had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Robert (Peg) Warden, and Art (Sue) Warden, sisters, Evelyn (Les) Taylor and Darlene Warden, and a grandson, Bryan Thurman.

    Mrs. Thurman was a graduate of Beardstown High School. She was employed by Critic Mills, First National Bank as a teller, and Beardstown Ready Mix as a secretary. She loved cooking, collecting cookbooks, writing poems, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

    A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Sager Funeral Home with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
