Debra Jane Thompson, 66, Beardstown, died at 12:44 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at her home.

She was born on September 26, 1956 at Beardstown, a daughter of the late Billy Lee & Norma J. Winkelman Cook.  She married William Thompson on February 10, 1995 in Rushville.

He survives along with four children; Michelle Coll and Kevin, Mack Dailey, Christie Weishaar and Tim, Billy Thompson and Stephanie; nine grandchildren, Ben Weishaar and Danielle, Alex Cook and Jeff, Courtney Redmond and Mike, Nick Weishaar and Katie, Quentin Thompson, Kelsey Edmonds and Troy, Sydney Emerick, Brendan Dailey, Garrett Dailey; four great grandchildren, two brothers; George Cook and Alberta, Donald Cook and Kim.

She was preceded in death by one sister; Diane Lancaster, one  brother; Billy Lee Cook.

Debra was employed at the Park House Hotel, was a bartender at the Dirty Shame and The Central in Beardstown.  She retired from Family Dollar in 2021 after 26 years of service.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Beardstown.  She enjoyed her fur baby, Buddy, her flower garden, traveling to Florida and attending her church.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, 2023 at the First Christian Church of Beardstown with Rev. Mike Courson officiating.  Interment followed in Sheldon’s Grove Cemetery.
