How to handle election season

    Greetings from the Ridge.
My grandpa said it was like eating a bad potato. You swallow the thing and realize it was rotten, then you spend the rest of the day as it rumbles around in your innards, just waiting for it to run its course so you’ll be done with it. The elections are exactly one year away and anyone with a radio, TV or Internet access has begun to brace himself against the onslaught of what we know will be an indigestible season of campaigning.
All of which makes me wonder that in a world that we’ve high-teched to the nth degree, why in the heck we can’t fight back against all the garbage that we know is going to be slung in our direction?  I’d offer a few suggestions.
