Lady Indians check every column

Three games into the season, the Meredosia-Chambersburg-Triopia-Virginia Junior High Softball Team has a mark in all three columns of the season record chart, picking up a win, a loss and a tie in the opening week of the season. The Lady Indians dropped a tough 5 to 4 decision to Beardstown, fought their way to a 4 to 4 tie against Rushville-Industry, then took down Greenfield 10 to 6.

Blazing start for Lady Tiger Softball

The Beardstown Junior High School softball team is off to a blazing hot start with a 6-0 record, including a fourth straight Augusta Tournament Championship. A walk-off win over Meredosia-Chambersburg-Triopia-Virginia was followed by a blow out win over Jacksonville.

Andrew Stock Softball Tourney set for August 30

The date has been set for the 5th Annual Andrew Stock Memorial Softball Tournament. Bring your family and friends to Riverside Ballfield at Schmoldt Park in Beardstown for a fun day starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30.

Knous in Team Championship of Pitch, Hit & Run

Congratulations to Ava Knous of Beardstown on qualifying for the Team Championship of the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition. She earned her spot in the Team Championship by winning the local competition held at Lakeview Recreation Center in Peoria.

BASA Black Attack is state bound

The Beardstown Area Special Athletes Black Attack softball team will be headed to the State Tournament in Springfield on September 6 and 7. The Black Attack qualified with a 13 to 5 victory in the Region H Title game, also in Springfield, last weekend.

Triopia Cheerleaders excel at camp

The Triopia-Virginia-Meredosia Cheerleading squad recently completed an outstanding week of work at the National Cheerleaders Association Camp at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Beardstown JFL to add cheerleading squad

The Beardstown Junior Football League is very excited to offer a new addition to JFL this year: The Beardstown JFL Cheer Squad! There will be mandatory practice, and they will be on a Cheer Squad that will cheer for the duration of the youth football games. The JFL Board feels that this will be a fun addition to the 2025 JFL season.

Second in State for Tri County 9/10 Softball

The Tri County Little League 9/10-year-old softball All Star team came within an eyelash of winning the Illinois State Championship, losing 3 to 2 in extra innings to Clarendon Hills in the state title game. It was the second loss to the state tourney hosts for Tri County as their only pool play loss was to Clarendon in the opener.
