Two wins against one loss last week has lifted the A-C Central Lady Knight softball team to a winning record as they improved to 7-6 for the season. The Lady Knights fell to Athens 19 to 3, then came back to beat Illini Central 14 to 0 and North Greene 10 to 6.
The A-C Central/PORTA Knights Junior High baseball team was racking up wins last week. The AC Central Yellow team went 3-0 to move to 4-4 for the season. The AC Black team got a win, a tie and a loss and are 4-3-2 for the year.
An even Steven week kept the Virginia-Meredosia-Triopia junior high baseball team’s record even Steven for the year. The Redbirds went 2-2-1 last week and now stand at 4-4-1 for the season.
Two bowlers will be representing the Beardstown Area Special Athletes at the Sectional Bowling competition. Based on their first-place performance at the 2025 Bowling Regional, Dalton Davis and Amber Crane qualified for sectional action.
Every week the BHS Cheerleaders will be showcasing the "Cheerleader of the week"! This is based on the entire week including practices and games and is decided on by the coaches. This helps recognize the hard work on and off the sidelines.
The three area schools all got their high school golf seasons underway last week.
It was a busy week for the Meredosia-Chambersburg-Triopia-Virginia Junior High School Softball team with games every day except Friday and two games on Saturday for a total of six contests. The Lady Indians went 4-2 to improve their season record to 8-4-1.
Two more blowout victories last week has pushed the season record to 11-0 for the Beardstown Junior High School softball team. On the road last Tuesday, the Lady Tigers smashed West Prairie 17 to 0.
The A-C Central Junior High School Softball team won three out of four games last week, including a big win over their current rival but probable future teammates in PORTA. The Lady Knights are now 4-5 on the year.
