Senior Night victory for Tigers

The Beardstown Tigers closed the regular season with a very busy week, playing four games. Beardstown added a game to the final week when they joined the West Central Conference last year and this year a makeup game added another contest to the mix.

Four Regional Champs for Tiger Junior High Wrestling

The Beardstown Junior High School wrestling team has four regional champions and eight sectional qualifiers after last Saturday’s Camp Point Regional. In addition, two other Tigers are Sectional Alternates, having placed fourth in the Regional.

Bluejays

Bluejays knock off sixth ranked Auburn

The vastly underrated and underappreciated PORTA-AC Central Bluejays continue to prove they can play with anybody in the state in Class 2A basketball, knocking off the state’s sixth ranked team, the Auburn Trojans, last Tuesday. The Bluejays finished off the regular season with a decisive victory over Stanford Olympia last Friday to finish with a 24-6 record.

AADM Team competes in Normal.

The AADM Airborne Team attended the USTA National Team Trials meet at Horton Field House on ISU campus in Normal, IL on Feb. 15th & 16th. This meet was an open invitational meet, hosting 62 clubs.

Vipers slither past Trojans

The Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia boys’ basketball team lost their final two games of the regular season last week to finish the year with a 15-15 record, including 2-7 in the Western Illinois Valley Conference. Two close games saw the Trojans fall in a low scoring affair 40 to 33 to Griggsville-Perry and a dogfight with South County 58 to 55.
