We knew from last week’s issue of this newspaper there would probably be someone upset with either the article or the editorial or both, and we were right.

In today’s world, it is hard to trust in many things. Government institutions, politicians, and even many businesses have made themselves untrustworthy.
I recently read a book called “Lit Up With Love” by Derwin Gray and it is a simple, but profound look at what sharing the Good News is all about. In the current state of the world that often feels overshadowed by uncertainty and darkness, the call to be “lit up with love” offers a transformative and enduring hope.
It was a hot, fun, exciting and exhausting day last Saturday, August 9, at the Roundhouse. “I Am Your Neighbor” is now behind us but the memories will linger for a long time.
It was a magnificent day, full of fun and entertainment for everyone at the event, “I Am Your Neighbor” held Saturday, August 9 at the Roundhouse, 8th and Bay Streets in Beardstown. The event was sponsored by First United Methodist Church, Beardstown.
We live in a time of stress and most of it is related to busyness. We simply put too much on our plate which places huge expectations on ourselves, and we just keep adding to it.
The Christian religion is utterly unique. We don’t believe in one God (monotheism) like the Jews or the Muslims.
Freedom is a great blessing. Living in the United States we have freedoms that people in other nations only dream of.
