“Finding Nemo Jr.” will be presented at Beardstown High School at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11th, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12th.
The charming 60-minute musical, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the beloved 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo. The cast includes over 200 students from grades Kindergarten to 12th grade, led by director and teacher, Allison Skinner.

Qualified high school students are offered a unique opportunity to explore the world by spending an academic year, semester or summer in Europe, Asia, North or South America, Australia or South Africa as part of the ASSE International Student Exchange Program. A non-profit, public benefit organization, ASSE is dedicated to promoting closer ties of friendship between the United States and other countries by fostering intercultural understanding through youth exchange programs.

Virginia is proud to welcome another new business to the community. Creekside Boutique & Coffee Company held their grand opening on Friday the 27th. The business, located on the north side of the square, is owned by Sara Beth Fanning and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

It’s a mess!
The article in last week’s Cass County Star-Gazette regarding the burning of an abandoned building in Chandlerville, had misinformation. according to Chandlerville Fire Chief Cory Simpson.
Chief Simpson reported to this newspaper it was not an abandoned building that was burned. He also said that both he and Deputy Chief Tanner Force have been reinstated to their position.
Wet, cold weather did not stop Ashland’s ghouls, goblins, dinosaurs, and superheroes from gathering Sunday afternoon at the Ashland fire house for popcorn, hot dogs, and sweets.

The Cass County Star-Gazette moved from 1210 Wall Street to its new location, 210A Washington Street, downtown Beardstown. We officially opened on Monday, Oct. 30.

Monday - Fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, dinner roll, fruited gelatin, milk. Tuesday - BBQ pork loin, parslied cauliflower, bread, peaches, milk.
