The Alzheimee’s Support Group will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday,  May 19th at the old Washington School, 1008 East 5th Street, Beardstown.

The Kirsta Anderson Benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th at the Round House Event Center in Beardstown. There is a small cover charge that includes a meal and kids’ activities.

Supervisor of Assessments Committee will meet at 6:00 pm. Monday, May 20 at the Cass County Courthouse in Virginia.

Bread of Love – May 20 -24

Monday - Meatloaf & gravy, baked potato, green beans, mandarin oranges, bread, milk

Tuesday - Turkey tetrazzini, broccoli, tossed salad with dressing, pears, dinner roll, milk

Wednesday - Cheeseburger on bun, tomato salad, peaches,milk

Glenda the cat

Pet of the Week

Glenda was born in 2018. She loves to sit on your lap and give you hugs. She likes to hang out on the shelves in her cat room and greet you when you walk in. She is energetic and cuddly. This beautiful girl, along with all other animals at SCHS (Schuyler County Humane Society) will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before adoption. You can meet Glenda and all pets at Schuyler County Humane Society, 17000 County Farm Road in Rushville. Visitor hours are Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon, and Sundays from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. You can also make an appointment by calling (217) 322-2220. Monday - Chicken penne pasta, buttered beets, three-bean salad, melon, garlic bread, milk. Tuesday - Porky Buger on bun, baked beans, tossed salad with dressing, tropical fruit, milk. Wednesday - Bratwurst on bun, potato salad, sauerkaurt, sugar free fruit, milk. Thursday - Roast chicken, garlic potatoes, corn, pineapple upside down cake, bread, milk. Friday - Sweet & sour chicken, brown rice, cole slaw, peaches, fortune cookie, bread, milk.

Melissa is a beautiful torti who was born in the spring of 2020. She has been here at SCHS for almost two years. She is the sweetest girl and loves attention. She likes laying on the shelves in her room and leaning into your hand for pets. Community Calendar

The Gifts from Maggie Memorial Ride will be held starting at noon on May 4th at Daugherty’s Pub in Chandlerville. Purpose of the ride is to raise funds for the Christmas program and to assist local families throughout the year. There will be a 50/50 drawing, food, music, games and much more. Blizzard was born in September of 2023 and came to the Humane Society on January 18, 2024. He has a unique pattern in his fur and is very handsome. He is very cuddly and loves attention.
