Carol Jean Lang

    Carol Jean Lang, 78, of Havana and formerly of Beardstown, died at 11:03 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
    She was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Beardstown to the late Fred and Norma Jean Hay Mayes. She married H.A. “Ted” Maltby on Oct. 31, 1959, and he preceded her in death July 27, 1976.
    She later married Dennis Lang on Nov. 3, 1983, in Beardstown. He survives along with three daughters, Laura Maltby (Richard) Zillion, Beardstown; Tosha DeAnn (Antonio) Lang, Racine, WI; Tara Michele Lang, Bonnie Lake, WA; two step-sons, Matthew Alan Lang, Loami, Jason Paul Lang, Springfield; 10 grandchildren, Zach, Zeb, Andrew, Jireh, Charisma, Antonio, Sapphira, Amir, Jozey, Chloey; and two great grandchildren, Harper and Halle.
    Also surviving are one brother, Bob (Sue) Mayes, Pleasant Plains; two sisters, Debbie (Tony) Martin, Ruth Ann (Butch) Hobrock, Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, H.A.”Ted” Maltby, a daughter, Donna DeAnn Maltby and a brother, Fred Mayes, Jr.
    She was previously employed by Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown. She was of the Jehovah Witness faith.
    Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 30, with Elder Robin Raymer officiating. Interment followed in Rushville City Cemetery. There was no visitation.
