BHS Scholastic Bowl goes to nationals

    The Beardstown High School Varsity Scholastic Bowl team recently returned from national competition in Arlington, Va.
    The National History Bowl took place on the weekend of Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26. Six Beardstown High School students, including three juniors and three seniors, participated in eight matches of rigorous, in-depth questions. The senior students were Captain Shelton Cottle, Joshua Saylor, and Austin Pilger. The junior students were Emma White, Parker Carls, and Joshua Grant.
    Over 1,500 high school students convened in the vicinity of the nation’s capital to compete against one another over challenging, critical thinking-based questions. Private as well as public schools sent teams to the bowl competition.
