LLCC adding three new programs

Lincoln Land Community College Springfield Campus

Lincoln Land Community College is expanding to offer two new degree programs and one new certificate this fall — creative writing associate in arts, cardiovascular sonography associate in applied science and a workplace dynamics certificate.

Garage fire in Beardstown

Beardstown Fire Department responded to a call at 2:12 p.m.  Wednesday, July 3 at 1000 East 4th Street to an unattached garage. There were no valuable contents in the garage which had moderate damage.

Nova, a white dog

Nova was born on April 24, 2023. She is a beautiful white dog with a little brown. She is a sweet girl who loves to interact and has the biggest smile. She knows some basic commands and is house broken.

Bouncing back in emphatic fashion from an opening round loss to Macomb, the Beardstown 11/12-year-old baseball All Stars are still alive in District play.  A tough game one loss to the Bombers sent the Tigers to the loser’s bracket where they took out more than an ounce of frustration on Pike

Beardstown 11/12 Softball in final four

A swing and a connection for Beardstown’s Harper Lawson.

The Beardstown Softball 11/12-year-old All Stars are one of four teams left with a shot at winning the Illinois State Championship. A 3-1 record in pool play gave the Tigers the right to advance to tourney play where they will definitely have a punchers’ chance. But so will the other three squads as the State Title will be decided in a one day, four-team, three-game, single elimination extravaganza on Wednesday, July 10.
