Beardstown trailer fire

On February 17 Beardstown Fire Dept responded to a trailer fire in the 1400 block of Canal Street shortly after 12 p.m. Occupants had already evacuated prior to the arrival of the fire department. Fire fighters performed an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to save most of the trailer. The trailer is considered to be a total loss, and most contents were damaged due to heavy smoke. The fire department was on the scene for approximately an hour and a half. Cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation. American Red Cross was called to assist the residents. Beardstown Fire Department was assisted on scene by Beardstown Ambulance, Beardstown Police Department, Arenzville Fire Department, Rushville Fire Department, and Ameren Illinois.
