April Dawn Jockisch, 52, of rural Beardstown, died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home.
    She was born April 4, 1969, the daughter of James and Joyce Workman Michaels. She married Kurt Jockisch on February 14, 2002 in Cass County and he survives.
    She is also survived by two sisters, Kim (Chuck) Dowson and Dorothy (Steve) Anderson, all of Virginia; one brother, Troy Michaels of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Mrs. Jockisch was formerly employed by the sanitation division of Cargill and Beardstown Glove Factory. She enjoyed watching movies, gardening and spending time in the outdoors.  April was a great cook and made a great tenderloin sandwich.
    A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at April and Kurt’s home, 7196 South Hagener Rd., Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sagerfuneralhome.com.
