Richard and Mary Jo Scheer to celebrate 50th Anniversary

    Richard and Mary Jo (Beard) Scheer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house on June 13 from 4-7 p.m., at the Roundhouse in Beardstown. Richard and Mary Jo were married on June 12, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown.
    Richard is the son of the late William and Elsie Scheer and Mary Jo is the daughter of the late Glenn and Jeanne Beard.
    The couple has lived on the family farm in rural Beardstown all their married life. Richard is a retired farmer and Mary Jo works as an Office Assistant for Country Financial in Virginia.
    They are the parents of three daughters, Teena Carey of Beardstown, Valerie (husband, Bob) Booth of Sherman, and Gail (husband, Kris) Gallaher of Mt. Sterling. They have five grandchildren: Morgan Booth, Shelby and Sydney Carey, and Kennedy and Marshall Gallaher.
    Friends and family are encouraged to come celebrate with the couple. No presents please, your presence is gift enough.
