Alice Joy Lovekamp Binder, 84, Denver, CO, died May 6, 2022. She was born April 4, 1938 in Beardstown.
She was the youngest of eight children. Her mother died when she was seven, causing her to develop grit at an early age. A close bond was formed with her sister, Blanche Chipman of Beardstown. Together, they grew, worked hard, laughed, watched out for each other and got into a bit of mischief, as sisters do.
After graduating from Beardstown High School, she worked in a jewelry store until she met the love of her life, Vince Binder in February, 1958. They were married three months later on May 17, 1958. Together they built a family with Vince’s four children, Judy, Tim, Mark and Vinny and raised their two children, Amy and Joe.
They were devoted Christians, traveled the world with GE, welcomed family members and friends often and had a strong work ethic. She scrapbooked over 25 albums, loved Christmas and knitted over 1,000 stockings to give as gifts. She was a voracious reader and loved planting flowers.
