Velma B. Miller, 94, of Athens and formerly of Browning, died Friday, June 5, 2020 at 7:45 p.m. at her home.
She was born April 16, 1926, in Chapin, the daughter of Henry and Georgia (Rigor) Schall.
She married Edwin Christy Miller, Sr. on Sept. 11, 1946, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Edwin, Jr. “Deuce” (and Linda) Miller of Browning; five grandchildren, Lisa (and Doug) Mueller of Athens, Billy Miller of Creve Coeur, IL, Tracy (and Wendy) Miller of Lawton, MI, John (and Misty) Miller of Browning, Carla (and Will) Vaughn of Browning; 12 great-grandchildren and multiple great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Miller; two sisters, Marion Davison and Betty Macfee; and a brother, Henry Schall.
She was a housewife and homemaker and was a member of Athens Christian Church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Mud Valley Cemetery, Browning, with Pastor Ken Gennicks officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mud Valley Cemetery Fund.
