Franklin G. Bell, 80, died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.

He Was born July 29, 1943, the Son of Elmer Bell and Evelyn Logan. He married Barbara J on August 17, and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children, Patrick Bell, Brian (Marilyn) Bell, Gary (Melissa) Bell, Christina (Gene) Brunk; his siblings ,Jerry Bell, Dale Bell, Donald Bell, David Bell, and Gloria Sweatman. Surviving are also many grandchildren, Josiah (Lynne) Bell, Aryann (Jeffrey) Gibson, Jesse (Anissa) Bell, Jayden Bell, Autumn Bell, Alaria Bell, Jonathan Bell, Kembra (Michael) Logan, Kyler (Samantha) Bell, Jenna Leinberger, Bridgette Bell, Kristopher Bell, Lynze Brunk, Kristin (Drew) Petefish, Ahsley (Justin) Garner, Cheyenne Molohan, Dakota Barrett, and several great-grandchildren, Asa Gibson, Desi Gibson, Daisy Bell, Rowan Story, Bodie Bell, Macie Logan, Gideon Bell, Payten Bell, Paxton Bell, Isabella Garner, Aiden Garner, Finley Garner, Ketsia Molohan.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Lyle Bell, James Bell, Junior Bell, Bud Bell, Betty Bell, Lucille Bell, and Josephine Bell.

Franklin was a Sangamon Valley Township Supervisor for 16 years, owned T.O.’s Pizza and Cass Meats in Virginia, but he spent most of his life as a hardworking farmer. When Franklin wasn’t working you would probably find him outdoors fishing, or inside watching his favorite western movies.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Methodist Church of Virginia with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m until the time of services Saturday at the Methodist Church.
