Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Beddingfield, 79, Virginia, died Friday April 21, 2023 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
He was born July 26, 1943 in Springfield, son of the late Merle C. and Viola R. Schulze Beddingfield.
Surviving are his children, Merle Beddingfield (Sandy) of Jacksonville, and Lori Belden (Brad) of Pleasant Plains; four grandchildren, Courtney and Cody Belden and Caden and Coy Beddingfield; a great-granddaughter, Addison Beldon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Renee in infancy; and a sister, Karen McGuire.
Ronald was a graduate of Virginia High School class of 1961, along the way taking classes at Lincoln Land Community College. Out of high school, Ronald worked for Daryl Ivey Painting and Virginia Packing Co., Anderson-Clayton in Jacksonville, Oscar Meyer in Beardstown and retired from Capital Records/EMA in Jacksonville.
He attended the Presbyterian Church in Virginia. He was active in the Virginia Jaycees, the Virginia Sportsmen’s Club and The Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He enjoyed attending his children’s sporting events, where he picked up the nickname “Easy Money,” hunting, fishing, being outdoors, riding motorcycles, C.B. radios and later in life, mowing yards.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Virginia Presbyterian Church and sent to Sager Funeral Home, 202 E. 8th, Beardstown, Il. 62618.
