Edward Lee Vaniter, 69, Springfield, formerly of Beardstown, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on December 30, 1953, the son of Richard and Elaine Fair Vaniter.

He is survived by his children, sons, Chris (Megan Little) Vaniter, Beardstown, Jordan (Brittany) Vaniter, of Springfield; daughter, Mindy (Michael McCann) Vaniter, of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren: Nolan Vaniter, Tycen Little, Landon Little; sisters, Vickie (Jim) Coats, of Beardstown, and Brenda (Richard) Lenning, of Beardstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Max.

Edward formerly worked for the City of Beardstown, Oscar Meyer and Illinois College. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt). He also enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Sager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Beardstown City Cemetery, at a later date.
