Eva Lou Blair

Eva Lou Blair, 91, Chandlerville, died at Walker’s Nursing Home in Virginia, at 5:47 a.m., on Thursday, October 20, 2022, where she had been a resident for several years. Prior to living at Walker’s, she had been a lifelong resident of Chandlerville.

Eva was the daughter of Hugh and Lanie Blair, who preceded her in death. Her only sister, Hannah, died earlier this year. She is survived by lifelong family friend, Wadine Mibb.

Eva graduated from Chandlerville High School in 1950, where she was class Valedictorian. After graduation, she and Hannah ran the Cream Station and collected payments for CIPS. They also began collecting water bills for the Village of Chandlerville, retiring after fifty years of service. At the same time, they cleaned the People’s State Bank for over thirty years. They also cleaned and worked for several other people in the area.

Eva and Hannah were always together and now the “Blair Girls,” as they were known, are together again.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or Walker Nursing Home Activity Fund. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Chandlerville Cemetery.
