MaLinda Fay Daniel

MaLinda Fay Daniel, 73, Virginia, died Monday, July 25, 2022 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

She was born December 3, 1948 in Beardstown, the daughter of Edgar and Evelyn Clement Hish. She married Robert Daniel on February 14, 1969 in Virginia and he survives.

She is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Hish of Virginia; two sons, Jeffrey D. and Sean M. Daniel, both of Virginia; four grandchildren, Chase, Brittney, Kim, and Jessica; two sisters, Shirley (husband Ronnie) Bell and Kathy (husband Robert) Trenter,  both of Virginia; one brother, Gary (wife Diane) Hish of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Marilyn (deceased husband Wayne) Masten.

MaLinda graduated from Virginia High School in the class of 1966. For 30+ years, MaLinda and Robert dedicated their lives to the Virginia Community. They owned and operated MECCA Ambulance Service in Virginia. She held many positions within the business: bookkeeper, manager, and dispatcher, to name a few. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, baking, and flower gardening, and had a large collection of Longaberger baskets. MaLinda and her friend would take off and go on trips seeking and searching for more baskets to bring home while also enjoying each other’s company. Her life was spent serving others and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her knew what a compassionate and giving heart she had. She will be missed by all those who loved her the most.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
