Walter L. Lisle, 94, Haines City, FL, died on May 27th, 2022 at Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, Fl. 

He was born on December 3, 1927, to Orbe Lisle and Velma Stacy in St Joseph, MO. 

He began working at Oscar Mayer in Davenport, IA at the age of 17. It was there where Walter met his wife to be, Phyllis Marie Finley. They were married on December 11th, 1948. After their marriage, he would go on to adopt Phyllis’s son, Jerry.

Walter was later transferred to Beardstown, Illinois in 1967 to help open a new plant for Oscar Mayer. On August 1, 1984, he retired with 37 years of service between the Davenport, IA and Beardstown, locations. Shortly afterward, Walter and Phyllis moved to Ridge Manor community in Haines City, FL. There they had many friends and fond memories.

Walter was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was kind to all. Everyone that had the opportunity to interact with Walter considered him a true gentleman.

He loved to fish, play golf up into his 80’s, read books, watch westerns and baseball.

Walter is survived by a grandson, two nieces, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son and two sisters.

Burial service to be at a later date.
