Fonda Diana Jockisch, 66, Virginia, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at home.
She was born Jan. 13, 1956, in Springfield, the daughter of James and Florence Scholes Goodall. She married Roger A. Jockisch on Sept. 5, 1981, at Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and he survives.
She is also survived by four children, Diana Jockisch, Joseph (Melissa) Jockisch, John Jockisch and Rebekah (Travis) Pentecost; five grandchildren, Andrew, Adriana, Abigail, Autumn and Aubrey; one brother, Mike (Anne) Goodall; five sisters, Sandy Harden, Gladys (Jack) Sullivan, Marteka (deceased husband, Alan) Schryer, Laura Goodall and Annette (Jerry) DeHaven; two sisters-in-law, Cindy (Carl) Musch and Vera (Jeff) Sims; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Katherine Schulz (surviving husband, Calvin), and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Hazel Jockisch.
Mrs. Jockisch was a 1974 graduate of Virginia High School. She had worked at Angelo’s Pizza and later for Dr. Kerch and Dr. Hollada and several other local chiropractors. She served as head cook at Virginia Schools prior to her retirement. Fonda was a very active member of Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, where she had been a member for forty-eight years. She taught Children’s Church, was active in the bus ministry and was an Awana leader. She was well known for her lasagna and pizzas. She knew no stranger and was kind and loving to everyone.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. An open visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or American Cancer Society.
