Patricia “Jean” Hager, 77, of Virginia, died peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021, in her home.
She was born January 8, 1944, in Plymouth, the daughter of Gerald Lee and Geraldine M. Copeland Raymond.
She is survived by her lifelong partner and friend, Jon Phillips of Jacksonville; three children, Timothy Hager (Vicki Rister) of Indianapolis, IN, Kimberly (Donald) Hays of Bowling Green, MO, and
Patricia “Lynn” Walker of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Chauna Irvin, Brittney Meyer, Randall Smith, Cayela Simpson, Cara Stolp, Clinton Detrick, and Courtney Grimsley; sixteen great grandchildren; and lifelong friends that became part of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Zachery Allen Hager; and brother, Roger Raymond.
Jean was a graduate of Virginia High School. She then began her career in Human Resources, retiring from Carustar after 38 years. She attended First Christian Church in Beardstown. She enjoyed daily coffee with her friends, watching the St. Louis Cardinals with Jon, and traveling.
A celebration of life gathering will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
