Teresa “Terrie” E. Loughary, 70, of Arenzville, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born February 19, 1951 in Beardstown, the daughter of Robert and Lottie Morrow Edwards. She married Michael Joe Loughary on October 8, 1968 in California and he survives.

She is also survived by one daughter, Wendy (Jeff) Schiller of Crossroads, TX; one son, Shawn (fiancé, Karen Figlestahler) Loughary of Las Vegas, NV; two grandsons, Joshua (Jordann) Monson of Gulf Breeze, FL and Nicholas Schiller of Crossroads, TX; mother, Lottie Mendez of Alabama; one brother, Joe (Vickie) Edwards of Frederick; one sister, Susan Crook of Rushville; one half-sister, Lisa Mendez of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; one grandson, Eric Loughary; two brothers, Steve and Martin Edwards; one half-sister, Tresa Bender; and step-mother, Bernita Edwards.

Mrs. Loughary was a 1969 graduate of Rushville High School and was employed as a bookkeeper for Beardstown Dairy and Buffy Tillitt & Associates in Beardstown, then for Custom Structures in Prentice, retiring in 2019. She loved music and dancing. Most weekends, she and her husband, Mike, could be found dancing wherever a local band was playing. She was an avid painter. She painted with oils for years, then started painting with acrylics before discovering a love for watercolors. She also loved plants and flowers and enjoyed taking care of her flowers in her garden.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
