Morris “Spanky” Hartwell Lancaster, Jr., 70, of Beardstown, died Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Heartland of Macomb.
    He was born December 10, 1950 in Beardstown, the son of Morris “Spanky” H., Sr. and Viola Lawson Lancaster.
    He is survived by one brother, Donald Lancaster of Rushville; family friend, Darren Wells of Rushville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William Lancaster and Robert Thorp-Lancaster.
    Mr. Lancaster was a 1969 graduate of Beardstown High School and was employed by Burlington-Northern Railroad, as a conductor, from 1972 to 2011. He also worked as a cook on Illinois River towboats. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown and Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007. Spanky enjoyed playing cards, cooking and traveling.
