George F. Jokisch, 86, rural Ashland, died Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
    He was born February 17, 1935, in Springfield, the son of Fred G. and Frances McPhillamey Jokisch. He married Margery L. Livangood on Aug. 23, 1957, at the Ashland United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2015.
    He is survived by two sons, Marshall (Julie) Jokisch of rural Ashland and Todd (Brenda) Jokisch of rural New Berlin; two grandchildren, Whitney Jokisch of rural Ashland and Logan (Raya) Jokisch of Fairview Heights; and several nieces and nephews.
    Mr. Jokisch was a graduate of Ashland High School and was a long-time area farmer.             He was a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family.
    Private services will be held with burial at Ashland Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to Ashland Fire Department or Ashland United Methodist Church.
