Hi Guys!
My name is Emma Lee McGovern, you might hear those close to me call me Bemma, and boy, have I been waiting to talk to you all.
I was brought into this world by my mommy, Mickayla McGovern with my daddy, Kory McGovern, by her side on February 14, 2012 in Springfield. And on May 3, 2021 I left peacefully with Mommy, Daddy, my big Sissy Maddie and my Nonie snuggling by my side reading books and watching my favorite movie, “Moana,” in my Seussville bedroom at our home in Rushville.
Don’t worry, I made it safe and sound.
When I arrived at the gates of Heaven I was greeted by an army of angels that have come here before me. They had glimmering metallic pinwheels, handed me one of my own and I ran through the breeze, and boy, was it fun.
My third grade class, along with all my other friends and teachers at Webster Elementary, made me some of the coolest cards with pictures and well wishes. As one of my classmates put it, yes, it sure did suck never being able to go outside, but now I can play and run outside all day.
My family had a celebration in my honor held at 10 a.m. Saturday May 8th, 2021 at First Christian Church, Beardstown, with Pastor Mike Courson officiating.
Due to the current health situation, face masks were required and social distancing guidelines were followed to accommodate the church during this pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, monetary memorial tributes can be directed to Kory & Mickayla McGovern at Rushville State Bank to assist with expenses and also through Colwell Memorial Home.
