Helen Ruth Woodrow, 88, of Green Valley passed away at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Hopedale Nursing Home.
    Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Beardstown to Joseph O. and Lou (Theivagt) Robertson, she married Raymond B. “Ray” Woodrow on Sept. 2, 1957, in Beardstown. He died March 1, 2020, in Green Valley. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joseph Robertson and William Robertson.
    Surviving are one daughter, Mary S. Woodrow of Green Valley; one son, Joe (Kris VonDerHeide) Woodrow of Green Valley; one brother, Robert Robertson of Beardstown and several nieces and nephews.
    Helen attended Beardstown schools, graduated from Brown’s Business College and then worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Company before raising children. She was a devoted farm wife for most of her life and was a member of Green Valley Presbyterian Church. Along with being focused on her family, she loved horses and was fond of cats.
    A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Frank Brozenec officiated. Burial  followed in Green Valley Cemetery.
