Alice Farrell, 99, of Jacksonville and formerly of Beardstown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Prairie Village Health Care in Jacksonville.
    She was born May 25, 1921, in rural Franklin, the daughter of James and Ida White Woods. She married Thomas Farrell and he preceded her in death.
    She is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Ron) Summey of Quincy; one son, Sam (Marilyn) Dickman of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
    Mrs. Farrell was a 1939 graduate of Beardstown High School. She was employed at the Jacksonville State Hospital in the dietary department for over 20 years. Alice enjoyed tending to her yard and shopping. She loved animals, especially her dogs.  
    A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Beardstown City Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
