Winners selected in Ashland Days contests PDF Print E-mail

Ashland's youngest residents strutted their stuff for the various contests Thursday night during Ashland Days festivities.
The baby contest winners were Megan Bright for cutest hair, Kolton Buker for shyest, Anniston Thornley for grooviest, Emaline Ratliff for most outgoing, and Caenyn Belden was the youngest citizen.
The Baby Little Miss was Paige Ratliff and the Baby Little Mister was Jake Kline. The Little Miss winner was Heidi Wayland and the Little Mister winner was Trey Ratcliff.
In the Ashland Miss Summer Days contest, the runner-up junior Miss Summer Days was Ashley Smith and the winner was Jaelyn Eilers. In the senior contest, the runner-up Miss Summer Days was Natane Butler and the winner was Kirby Cowman.
The contestants also voted on a Miss Congeniality award for the one easiest to get along with. The junior winner was Sidney Wallbaum and the senior winner was Natane Butler.
Dick Gutmann was named first citizen of Ashland.
Saturday morning featured the Ashland Summer Days parade. Participants included the Ashland Police and Fire Departments, Cass County Sheriff, Ashland VFW post, Ashland Boy Scout troop, the Miss Ashland Summer Days winners, and the Virginia BBQ queen.
The parade was preceded by a flag raising and followed by the Ashland Methodist Church's chicken and noodle dinner.
