Easter is on its way and the Virginia Memorial Library is hosting an Egg Decorating Party. Hop on over to the library on Saturday, April 12 to decorate eggs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Be sure to wear old clothes.
This Saturday, April 12 is Trivia Night at the Virginia United Methodist Church to raise funds for the Virginia Daycare. Dinner is $5 consisting of sloppy joes or hot dogs, chips and drink, and will be served at 5 p.m. with trivia starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and 10 members per team. Virginia Memorial Public Library is proud to be one of the 2,300 bookstores and libraries across America that are supporting World Book Night 2014. World Book Night U.S. is an ambitious campaign to give thousands of free, specially printed paperbacks to light or non-readers. Virginia Memorial Public Library will help promote reading by handing out free copies of adult and children's books, with special focus on light readers, on Wed., April 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the library. It is that time of year! The Virginia BBQ is just a few months away and a queen is needed! Virginia BBQ 2014 Queen Pageant is open to girls ages 14-18 that reside within the Virginia School District. Entry forms are located in the VHS office and at the First National Bank of Barry in Virginia. Sign up deadline is Friday, April 18. Mark your calendars. April 29, the Virginia PTO along with the Title One Reading program, are bringing Magic Storyteller, Chris McBrien to Virginia's school. Dinner will be prepared by the Virginia FFA at 6 p.m. and PTO will host kids activities with the storytelling beginning at 7 p.m. Fun for the entire family.
