There will be an informational meeting at 7 p.m. March 27 to discuss the upcoming Tiger Nation Booster Club fundraiser and other events.
The Tiger Nation Booster Club was organized by a group of parents, teachers and community members to help raise money as a result of Beardstown School Board’s cuts. Beardstown School District, along with most districts throughout the state, are all experiencing financial crisis due to the state’s lack of making payments to the districts. Beardstown recently cut all middle school sports, stipends to the high school’s extra curricular activities and assistant coaches.
Everyone is invited and encouraged to help support Beardstown Middle/High School and to help restore some of the activities that were recently cut.
The Tiger Nation Booster Club will hold a fundraiser Saturday, April 26 at the Round House in Beardstown. There will be fun, food, and activities for the whole family. The event will start at 11 a.m.
There will be live entertainment all day including local bands, Dick and the Tator Tots, Motor Boat, and Wedgwood Brothers. There will be a Tiger Cubs kid corner with activities for children and a cake walk. Add to that a bake sale, silent auction, live auction, t-shirt and 50/50 ticket sales.
There will be a $5 admission at the door. A family package of four or more (immediate family) will be able to get in for $20. If the child is playing in the Dodgeball Tournament, there will be an extra $5 fee for a wristband to play in the tournament.
Food tickets may be purchased for $5. Pork chop sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad and a drink will be served beginning at 11 a.m. Starting at 4 p.m., a taquito plate will be available, also for $5. Delivery will be available, courtesy of the high school OTSD (Operation Teen Safe Driving) group. Delivery will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
