Jon Kramer, a senior at BHS, has signed to play baseball at Illinois Central College in the Class of 2014.
Head Coach Brett Kelley said of the eight-man group,”We think we have landed the guys who are going to help us reach the NJCAAS World Series.”
Kramer, a left-handed pitcher fills the gap where the Cougars have really been missing the boat the last two seasons––left handed  pitching.
He had a 6-2 record last year for the Tigers, boasting an outstanding 1.15 ERA, with 61 strikeouts, and allowed 34 walks in his 42.2 innings of work.
Kramer was selected to the All-Area team, and was a unanimous choice for All-Prairieland Conference. He also earned a berth on KHQA’s Chris Dour’s All Do or Die Baseball team, and was a member of the Springfield Bulldogs Traveling program.
“Jon came to us very highly recommended, and after watching him pitch at our place, we were sold. We think he is very similar to Brock Adcock, who was outstanding for us in 2013 before moving on to Eastern Kentucky University.”
Kramer finished 2013 with a sparkling .447 BA, led the team in RBI’s with 38, runs scored 27. His on base percentage was .542, and an extremely fine .750 slugging  percentage. He led the Tigers in hits with 34, doubles with nine, and collected four triples, to go with two home runs.
“We are pleased to see Jon sign with ICC, they have an excellent baseball program, and he should do very well for the Cougars.”
“As a senior we look for Jon to give us senior leadership and we think he will respond accordingly,” concluded Lewis.
