The outlook for the Beardstown District 15 Board of Education's Education Fund has school officials ready to do some planning and discuss possible budget reductions for the 2014-15 school year.
At the regular meeting of the Board of Education on Wednesday January 22, a special meeting was set to discuss finances to be held February 6 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The public is highly encouraged to attend this meeting.
The board received information that if the decision was made to close Brick School, the property would remain in the district. This is likely to be one of the topics discussed next month.
The board gave Superintendent Reggie Clinton a proficient evaluation with a salary freeze for next year.
In personnel matters, the board approved the hiring of Paola Gil and Virginia Dieme as Middle School, High School Language Facilitators.
They accepted the resignation of Georgia Degboe, a Para Professional. They accepted the retirement request from Marian Brim as Elementary Special Education Teacher.
