Community support needed to receive grant for new pool PDF Print E-mail

The quest for a new public swimming pool for the Beardstown community, received encouraging news. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Director, Marc Miller announced $25 million will be available for Park and Recreation projects through Illinois Jobs Now Capitol Program. This PARC (Parks and Recreation Construction) grant money can be awarded for qualifying projects up to $2.5 million. The PARC program will reimburse grant recipients up to 75 percent of approved projects (and up to 90 percent reimbursement to local governments designated as disadvantaged). Applications must be submitted by March 10 for consideration.
The Beardstown Park District is going all out in its effort to be awarded grant money from these PARC funds, but we need your help more than ever. Please email or write to our park district expressing your desire for a new swimming pool for the Beardstown area and why it is so important for our community to have one. These letters of support, along with any financial donation you can help with, will be very valuable in showing the level of support we have for the project.
Cargill’s generous offer of matching up to $115,000 makes your donation double its value.
You may reach the park office via its email address: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by mail at 6 Armory Lane, Beardstown, IL 62618.
Please help us make our grant application the best it can be. Your generosity and kindness will help make the new pool a reality. But hurry, we must apply by March 10.
