Another close call at the intersection of State and Main Streets.
There are three stop signs at this intersection. One for southbound traffic, one for westbound traffic and one for eastbound traffic.
Northbound traffic (heading toward the river) does not have to stop, yet time and time again people will see you coming (they must think you have to stop) and pull right out in front of you.
The worst offenders are the drivers sitting at the westbound stop sign. You approach them with your turn signal on to turn left, and yet they pull on out toward you.
I hope an accident will never happen there, but it’s just a matter of time.
Maybe if the city would put “Approaching traffic does not stop” signs on these three stop signs, it would help. But the drivers still need to pay attention.
