Beardstown United Way 2014 Campaign PDF Print E-mail

Blanche Chipman, Executive Director, and the Board of Directors of the Beardstown United Way, have announced the beginning of the 2014 campaign drive.
Live United! is the slogan for the United Way’s 2014 campaign which is presently underway. The goal for this year has been set at $164,700.00.
This is an extremely ambitious 2014 campaign. They reached their goal last year of just over $157,000 and expect to again make their goal in 2014 with the help of community-minded citizens.
The Beardstown United Way services thirty (30) different local charities that involve monetary disbursements to four categories: 1. Youth ($48,750); 2. Senior Citizens ($22,500); 3. General Public Needs ($69,250);  4. Special Needs ($14,000).
The breakdown in the four separate categories defines what the needs of the community are as they attempt to cover the many aspects of the 30 separate organizations and their specific needs.
With continued support from local citizens, along with corporate and local businesses donations, it is possible the Beardstown United Way will continue to be successful in reaching out to all thirty of the charitable organizations.
In the very beginning, the Beardstown United way had a goal of just over $12,000 and had nine local charity organizations receiving funding. As they say, “You’ve come a long way baby!”
