The BHS Lady Tigers lived to fight another day as they knocked off West Hancock in hard-earned two-set match 25-23, 25-20 at the Rushville/Industry Class 2A Regional.
A string of six straight service points by Lady Tiger Lauren Young broke the Lady Cardinals’ back, vaulting the O&B from a 15-15 tie to a 20-15 margin where they held on for the exciting 25-23 win. The first set was tied five times, the last at 15-15.
In set two, the game went back-and-forth and was tied no less than eight times, the last time at 17-17.
With the Lady Tigers leading 19-17, coach Chad Harrison hotly disputed a call by the referee to no avail. However, it did pump up his team and behind Nancy Madrid and Lauren Young, the O&B built a 22-19 margin. Maddie Fox got two service points to make it 24-20 and Aileana Rawlins salted it away with the winning service point, set, and match.
